Will Percy Harvin play in his first Seahawks football game next Monday night ? Seattle coach Pete Carroll hinted he and Hawks fans might not know until game day in St. Louis.
“It would be great to see him play this week, but that’s not what we’re counting on,” said Carroll at Thursday’s press conference. “We just want to see how he does and go into tomorrow. I don’t know what is realistic right now. I probably won’t know until Monday.”
Harvin continues to recover from hip labrum surgery and get himself into game shape. One man who knows what a healthy Percy Harvin can do is Seattle and former Vikings teammate Sidney Rice.
“Put a package in and let him make plays. He mostly played in the slot, but could go outside, depending on what packages we had for him.” shared Rice. “I’m sure eventually once he gets healthy, we’ll see the old Percy Harvin lining up on the inside or the outside. Who knows what’s going to come.”
Seattle receiver Golden Tate suffered a toe and shoulder injury in the Arizona game, but was a full practice participant this afternoon.
Middle linebacker Bobby Wagner has made great strides to play again after missing two games with a high ankle sprain. He was limited in today’s team work out.
Running back Derrick Coleman (hamstring), Tackle Breno Giacomini (knee), and safety Jeron Johnson (hamstring) did not participate in the practice.
Word filtered through the locker room today about St. Louis contacting Brett Favre about possibly coming out of retirement to play quarterback for the Rams, who have lost starter Sam Bradford with a season ending knee injury. Favre basically said thanks, but no thanks.
Defensive end Cliff Avril has one sack against Favre and said it would have been fun to face the future hall of famer one more time.
